Guidelines for re-opening of schools, colleges at outside containment zones
Guidelines for re-opening extended till 30th November 2020 for re-opening of schools & coaching institutions outside the containment zones. State and Union Territories govts given flexibility to take decision in consultation with schools/ institution management with conditions that is online/ distance learning to be preferred & encouraged.
Also, if student prefer to attend online classes, they may be permitted to do se. Students may attend schools/ Institutions only with the written consent of parents & attendance must not be enforced.
Also, state/UTs to prepare their own SOP regarding health & safety precautions for schools based on SOP issued by ministry of education, keeping local requirements in view. Also, schools which are allowed to open to mandatory follow the SOP issued by ministry of education, keeping local requirements in view. Schools which are followed to open mandatory follow the SOP issued by Education Departments of States/UTs.
Department of Higher Education to decide on timing of opening of colleges/HEIs in consultation with ministry of Home Affairs. Online/ Distance learning to be preferred & encouraged. To open only for research scholars (Ph.D) & PG students in science & technology stream requiring lab/ experimental works permitted as under
- For centrally funded HEIs, the head of institution to satisfy herself on the requirement of lab/experimental works
- Other HEIs e.g state universities, private universities etc..may open only for lab/experimental work as per decision respective State/UT
